These are the four things this genius makeup artist says you need to do before you start applying summer makeup.
Neil Young, super A-list makeup artist and contributing editor at BEAUTY PIE, shared his 4-step secret for pre-makeup skin 're-juicing' on a recent shoot. He says:
1. Start With A Deep-Hydration Face Mist.
After cleansing, mist your face with the Jeju Daily Rehydration Mist + or Triple Hyaluronic Acid Hydra Plump Dewy Face Mist. It's like a secret underwear layer of hydration, and doing this, he believes, makes any foundation go on like MAGIC. SOLD!
2. Moisturise. Moisturise. Moisturise.
Layer on an ultra-light moisturizer (Shinkai Electrolyte Gel, Pure Oxygen™ Pure Glow Moisture Infusion, Triple Hyaluronic Acid Deep Moisture Miracle Cream, even Youthbomb™ Double-Retinol™ Action Skin Overhaul™ Serum as moisturiser) and REALLY massage it in (use a Gua Shua for extra circulation) - then follow with SPF. Always.
3. Prime Your Skin.
For Neil, primer is a must-have in summer, because it keeps makeup in place when it's otherwise going to melt. He used Wonderfilter™ Brightening Primer here, because it grips onto makeup but gives you a really naturally-radiant dewy glow.
4. For A Flawless Finish: Don’t Neglect The Undereyes.
Ginseng’s main functions are calming and soothing, and those benefits are welcome all day long.
Let your primer set for a minute or two, while tapping on your eye cream. Fourth finger. Tap tap tap. From the inner corner of the eye, to the outer, then inner, then outer, as many times as you need to wake up your under eye area, and get the lymph flowing, to reduce puffiness and make your face look alive! (This time, he used the Genius Ginseng Eye Cream. Because it's new. (Who doesn't love something new?) and it has spherical powders that help make any concealer go on overtop FLAWLESSLY.
