Which is a bit of a ripoff, really. So we've decided to tear up the old beauty industry rule sheet - and to inspire and empower people all over the world to get MORE OUT OF LIFE starting with their vitamins, their mascara and their moisturiser.
At BEAUTY PIE we're blowing the old beauty business wide open. We go straight to the labs that make the very best products for the other 'big brands', buy in large batches, and our members get to shop direct, from our warehouses, for a whole lot less.
WHAT DO YOU INCLUDE IN BEAUTY PIE PRODUCT COSTS?
Formulation, ingredients, packaging and development costs make up a large percentage of our BEAUTY PIE members' prices, and might include everything from an actual lipstick bullet, to the fluid of your foundation, the creams and cleansers, the tubes, jars, lids, and wands, moulds that produce our componentry (so powder compacts and lipstick cases and poured concealer pans and pencils) plus costs such as the assembly, filling, quality control, cartons, carton design, photography, duties and transportation (where applicable) and product-related development and design costs. You'll notice that this cost looks relatively low, and that's because as a Buyers' Club, when we buy in large quantities, each product's individual contribution to these costs is minimal.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN BEAUTY PIE FULFILLMENT COSTS?
Fulfillment costs include (but are not limited to) shippers and packing materials (we use recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible), transportation, safe, climate-controlled storage and warehousing, insurance (at that warehousing), picking & packing, credit card fees and order fulfilment costs.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN SAFETY, TESTING, LEGAL APPROVAL & OTHER SERVICES COSTS?
These costs may include (but are not limited to) costs such as prototyping, package testing, safety, compliance and testing, product and packaging compatibility and stability, panel safety and user testing and SPF testing (where applicable) and support services.
(AND OF COURSE EVERYBODY PAYS SALES TAX/VAT
VAT (UK) stands for Value Added Tax and is included in the final price shown on site. Sales Tax (USA) is charged at checkout and varies based on your billing address.
HOW DO YOU CALCULATE THE TYPICAL PRICE?
At BEAUTY PIE our Typical Prices reflect not only what non-members of our club are charged when purchasing our products, but our estimate of what a person would typically pay, at retail, for a luxury product of comparable quality, with a similar level of active ingredients, in a similar size. It’s almost impossible to communicate the high level of quality of our products, because unlike most beauty brands, we don’t formulate our products to hit a specific cost target, but rather, formulate our products from the ground up, with effective levels of the most compelling active ingredients to deliver the best possible results.

BEAUTY PIE products are produced to our unique packaging and product specifications.
Our TYPICAL PRICES are what you would typically pay at a retailer (online or offline) for a luxury product of similar quality, efficacy, size and weight. Our MEMBERS PRICES are much lower. We audit these regularly.
