Gabrielle Union in all Beauty Pie makeup

We love how naturally glowing actress Gabrielle Union looked at the Independent Spirit Awards last month (her purple sequinned Gucci number didn’t do any harm, either). The brief: soft, neutral tones. Glowing meets glossy. And the makeup? You guessed it: all courtesy of Beauty Pie.

The look was created by Emmy-nominated makeup artist, Fiona Stiles. Well-known for her work with brands such as Victoria’s Secret, Levis, Calvin Klein, her features in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and a regular MUA to the likes of Jennifer Garner, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman and, of course, Gabrielle Union.

Here, Fiona gives us the lowdown on Gabrielle’s look:

The Skin

To prep the skin, I started with the Depuffing Undereye Gels and then used the Japanfusion™ Genius Lift Ultra-firming Cryotherapy Set all over the face. To create the perfect canvas for makeup, I used the Youthbomb™ Biologic Collagen Peptide™ Cream on the face and neck and applied a layer of Smooth Ahead™ Intensive Lip Balm so the lips would be soft and supple when I applied lipstick.

The Base

I used the Everyday Great Skin Foundation in 600 in the centre of the face and under the eye area and the 700 on the outer perimeter to create depth. I used a bit of the Everyday Great Skin Concealer in 600 under the eyes and then applied Supercheek™ Cream Blush in Universal Pink to the cheekbones for a pretty pop of colour. I also used the Quick Contour Super Gel in Deep for contour, and a light dusting of the One-Powder Wonder™ to set the skin. A final sweep of the Awesome Bronze™ Powder Bronzer in Medium along the top of the cheekbones and down the nose gave a beautiful, warm glow to the face.

The Eyes

First, I shaped Gabrielle’s brows with Superbrow™ in Hot Coffee. On the lids, I used the Wondercolour™ Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Teddy Bare on the centre of the lids, and the Ultra Colour Pro Gel Eyeliner in Turkish Coffee to create depth. Along the lash line, I applied a sweep of Deluxe Precision Liquid Eyeliner Black Cat and under the eye I used the Supercolor Kohl in Soft Black to softly smoke out the eye at the corners. I coated the lashes with The Perfect™ Waterproof Mascara, top and bottom, for extra depth and drama.

The Lips

Having applied the lip balm right at the start, I finished the look with the Shine Up™ Luxe in Baby Bare with the Wondergloss™ Collagen Lip Oil +  in Nude Nectar layered on top. And she was good to go!
