I tried these legendary Beauty Pie Feet Peeling Socks and I have MANY thoughts

Beauty Pie Dr Glycolic Feet Peel Socks

Every time I’ve watched videos of people using peeling ‘socks’ on social media (which is more often than you might expect - I blame the algorithm) I think, “I need to try that”. And after a bleak winter free from pedicures and many more months of totally neglecting my feet, I decided that it was finally time.

Essentially, peeling socks are a sheet mask for your feet that administers chemical exfoliants like Alpha Hydroxy Acids to slough off dead skin cells, eliminate cracked heels and smooth out rough and thickened skin. Usually, the videos show people peeling off entire layers of dead skin in a snake-like shedding process that lasts for at least a week after application.

Our Dr Glycolic Soft Feet 7-Day Peel Socks have an impressive list of ingredients (Glycolic and Lactic Acids, Natural Fruit extracts of Grapefruit, Orange and Lemon, plus Sweet Almond and Coconut extracts) and the reviews are impressive: the comments contain gems like “my feet are completely reborn!” and “I prefer these over regular salon pedicures” with one Beauty Pie member dubbing them “magic socks”.

The application itself was simple – smoosh the gel around a bit in the sock so it’s evenly spread out and pull one over each foot, securing it in place with the sticky tab. You’re meant to leave them on for 90 minutes but I got stuck in a Zoom meeting, so ended up leaving them on for about two hours. To be honest, I could have kept them on all day - they didn’t make my skin sting whatsoever, and even had a gentle, zingy scent.

And then I waited. And waited. On day three post application, I started to wonder if my feet were immune to the treatment. Or maybe they were too bad and even these legendary peeling socks couldn’t help. There was not so much as a flick of a flake anywhere on my feet. By day five I had fully given up hope.

But then. A full week after application, I was just mindlessly watching TV and glanced down at my feet. It was like all of a sudden it had kicked in - big time (I now understand why it’s called a 7-day peel). The dead skin around my heels and balls of my feet (and everywhere else, including the top of my feet) was shedding. Finally! For the next week, I gave my feet a light buff with a foot file every evening and willfully peeled off the large flakes of skin with great satisfaction and awe.

Underneath was baby soft, smooth skin that looked like they'd never ever even touched the ground.
