Whether you swear by double-cleansing, or prefer a one-step hybrid cleanser, there’s one particular technique that could take your cleansing routine to the next level. Introducing kinetic cleansing - the latest skincare trend sweeping social media promising a high-tech deep clean that’s far more effective than just using a regular washcloth or just by hands. But what actually is kinetic cleansing? And what’s the best way to incorporate it into your daily routine?

What is Kinetic Cleansing?

Kinetic cleansing is the practice of using a high-frequency vibrating device to deeply clean your skin, shake loose dirt, oil and makeup from your pores. The rapid movements of the vibrations are more efficient at dislodging impurities from your skin compared to manual cleansing (think of it as similar to the difference between a manual and electric toothbrush).

The benefits of kinetic cleansing can include improved radiance, complete removal of dirt, more supple skin and a more even skin texture if used regularly. Another advantage is that kinetic cleansing can be gentler on your skin. Because the device is doing the heavy lifting, you don’t need to scrub as hard, which can reduce irritation and the risk of over-exfoliating. The even and controlled movements of a kinetic cleansing device can also help ensure that you’re cleansing your entire face evenly, which is something that’s harder to achieve with your hands alone.

What Should You Look For in a Cleansing Device?

Not all kinetic cleansing devices are created equal. One of the most important features is the material it’s made from - silicone is best as it is nonporous and therefore does not harbour bacteria. The other consideration is the vibration options - the best devices offer a range of frequencies to suit different skin types and purposes.

Our Super Facial Vibrating Cleansing Brush has three vibration intensities for a completely customised skincare routine: deep cleansing, massaging and skin stimulating. Plus, it has S-ion Technology® antibacterial silicone surface and even doubles as a facial massage device when flipped onto its other side.

How Should You Use a Kinetic Cleansing Device?

Using a kinetic cleansing device is pretty straightforward, but there are a few tips to get the most out of it. Start by wetting your face and applying a cleanser to your skin. You can use a gel, foam, or cream cleanser—just make sure it’s something that works well with your skin type.

Once you’ve applied your cleansing, turn on your kinetic cleansing device. Gently move it in small, circular motions across your face, spending a few seconds on each part of your face: forehead, nose, chin, and each cheek.

Rinse off your cleanser with warm water and pat your face dry. Follow up with your usual skincare routine, whether that’s a mist, a targeted serum, a nourishing moisturiser - or all of the above.

How Often Should You Kinetic Cleanse?

As with any skincare tool, how often you use a kinetic cleansing device depends on your skin type and concerns. For most people, using a kinetic cleansing device once a day is more than enough to see benefits without overdoing it. Some people find that using it every other day or just a few times a week is sufficient.

If you have very sensitive skin or a condition like rosacea, you might want to start by using the device just a couple of times a week to see how your skin reacts. On the other hand, if you have oily skin or are prone to acne, you might find that daily use helps keep your pores clear and your skin looking its best. As always, pay attention to how your skin responds and adjust your frequency as needed.

Whether you’re battling clogged pores, seeking a gentler cleanse, or just curious about what this technology can do for you, kinetic cleansing could be a game-changer.
